This two minute captures the cacophony of faces, activities and moods of the 4 1/2 million people who ride the New York subways everyday. The historical archival material includes underwater footage of the old red subway cars in their new incarnation as a coral reef. Also featured is Sebastian Zimmermann, a psychiatrist who snaps candid photos of subway riders on his way to and from his Bronx hospital. His subjects reveal their inner life as played out on, "a stage where your fellow passengers entrances and exits create a kind of street theater."
