This is an excerpt of the prime-time reality television series where a team of producers and video journalists decamped on the maternity ward - in this case, a large Columbus, Ohio Hospital- to film the monumental but everyday process of giving birth. Coming from a public television news background, it was an exciting challenge for me to participate in a reality television show where I also had to be the crew of one taping and recording sound.  I found myself gravitating towards the high risk patients as it felt more like "news" to me.
